Getting To Know The Chikuhodo MK- KO (Koi) Powder Brush, Maki-e Series

The Chikuhodo MK-KO brush has been on my wishlist for a few moths and to gave been gifted with this was a big surprise! Again, Thank You so much Fude Beauty ( for sending this over to me, I am grateful.

So on this Vlog, I am discussing the brush in detail and how I like to use it. There’s also a short demo on that. I am also discussing the story behind the design on the brush handle and the significance of having a Koi fish design on it.

I failed to mention on the video that one of the significance of having Koi as a design on the ferrule is because the baseball team of Hiroshima is named “Carp”. Which by the way is a beloved baseball team because the citizens of Hiroshima support them and not some company. Hence the design is a nod to the team and to the city itself because after all Kumano, is in Hiroshima.

I am also comparing the MK-KO brush to the other Maki-e brushes in my collection. See how this applies color/product differently that that of the MK-2 and the MK-UM. Enjoy!
