Sharing with you guys my experience with the Mario Badescu Facial Spray With Aloe, Chamomile and Lavender. Unfortunately, it’s a “No” for me. I felt a bit sad when I concluded that this was the culprit behind my blemishes because I enjoy Lavender – as a color, flower, tea and scent.
I started to develop small bumps all over my forehead back in July. It was about the time when I started incorporating this facial spray into my routine. I initially though that I was reacting to the the shampoo I was using since the blemishes were near my “hair line”. I switched to a gentler, hypoallergenic shampoo because of that – but it was still there. I also thought that my skin was reacting to the salt in the air because I am currently living near the shore.
My next step was to change my toner – because at that time, my fave toner was not in production because of the pandemic. In it’s place, I used the Alcohol-Free Face Toner from Neutrogena. When I switched back to my fave Toner – VMV Hypollergenic’s Superskin 2 Monolaurin + Mandelic Acid Toner for Combination Skin, I still had the tiny raised bumps on my forehead AND I was starting to get acne.
I then decided to switch to a mattifying toner because I thought that, since I am living by the sea and the weather was very hot and humid, I was getting oilier than usual. I started using VMV Hypoallergenic’s Fine Finish Pore-celain Effect Mattifier for Oily Skin.
My acne, blemishes, raised bumps and black heads were still there.
I was quite worried, confused and exasperated already – especially when I got cast for a commercial and my skin was not at it’s best. You can actually see my blemishes or me covering my blemishes in some of my most recent vlogs – especially on my brush series for the month of September.
I was not suspicious of the Mario Badescu Facial Spray With Aloe, Chamomile and Lavender because “it was just water”. It was only when I eliminated it from my skin care routine I found it to be the culprit.
On a lighter note, My fave Chamomile and Lavender tea blends are from the companies Bigelow Benefits and Celestial Seasonings. I drink a cup after a long and grueling day at work or when I have an upset stomach or when I have a headache. This tea combination really helps me relax by stabilizes my mood and it helps me sleep soundly.

The products I am using has worked for me and it might not necessarily work for you. Always be discerning when purchasing cosmetics or skin care products. Always read the label and the literature! Always do a patch test before you purchase a product for the first time to see that you are not allergic to any of the ingredients listed.

I love lavender in many things but not skin care. It just doesn’t get on with my skin. I don’t get an acne reaction. For me, it makes my skin very red, very dry, very itchy and flakey. So many companies add lavender fragrance and essential oil. I read every label before I buy.
This is the first time I reacted to Lavender. I’m also trying to figure out if it must be one of the ingredients too. Lesson learned here.
