St. Ives Energizing Coconut and Coffee Scrub

I went to Watson’s earlier to get some facial scrub. For years, I’ve been quite vocal on how much I LOVE the St. Ives (@stivesskin) Invigorating Apricot Scrub, read my blog about it here. I was just about to grab it from the shelf when saw this brown tube saying “Hi!” to me.

A fairly new product, I was immediately intrigued because … two of my favorite scents in the world are Coffee and Coconut. These two ingredients are also the main active ingredients of my existing “shaving” skin care products. So I felt right at “home”.

Checking the ingredients list, the caffeine and coconut fruit extract are ingredients are listed close to the bottom, so percentage wise, it is not that “active”. Then again, this is nothing else but a scrub. The smell does make me feel “awake” and “energized” plus the scrubs still feel “invigorating”.

I mostly use this when I am about to shave, this helps remove skin that has “grown” over my follicles or as part of a double cleanse routine if I wore makeup or when I have done any strenuous activity that day – say, if I was on location for a shoot or I went to the gym. If not I use a gentle cleanser most of the time.

Remember, St. Ives Energizing Coconut and Coffee Scrub is a scrub, so be very gentle when you are massaging this on your face. Most importantly, DO NOT use this everyday. Two to three times a week only or as needed. Over exfoliating does more harm than good, okay?

Let me say that the products I am using has worked for me and it might not necessarily work for you. Always be discerning when purchasing cosmetics or skin care products. Always read the label and the literature! Always do a patch test before you purchase a product for the first time to see that you are not allergic to any of the ingredients listed.

This video/post is not sponsored. The products that are shown here are the products that I always use, love and live by.
