How’s everybody doing during this time of quarantine?
I have been on the fence since the start of this event posting about stuff related to my work because it might be deemed in appropriate and untimely – given that make up and skin care can be seen as frivolous at times. But frankly, makeup and skin care is all I know – and that’s what I can share with passion and positivity.
I have observed at this time of the Covid19 pandemic that men have grown their facial hair because – why not. After all, we’re all stuck at home anyway. I have also noticed that some men have maintained a clean-shaven look – which is more ideal at this time. But it all boils down to a personal choice, just make sure to keep your beards hygienic.
I have seen posts from a few men stating about their love hate relationship with shaving – I too feel exactly the same. Shaving is a task and sometimes it can be painful. Pain is caused usually by using the wrong razor. This leads to razor burn or even nicks and scratches that can lead to possible infections or even acne.
It is because of this that I decided to do this video. It took me a long time to shave properly. It was a product of trial and error. Nobody really showed me how to shave while growing up. So, it has been quite a journey.
I do not shave everyday – not unless necessary. I shave every 2 to 3 days so as not to irritate my skin. I do not shave using the dry method because it irritates my skin even further. Two blade razors are the worst kind of razors for me. There blades are so – so. Five blade razors are my saving grace.
Please feel free to check out my YouTube video about my favorite shaving implements and my favorite shaving products + my methodology of shaving. It’s nothing fancy – but it is effective, in my humble opinion.
My favorite razor is from Harry’s Razors. An American company with German engineering technology. They have a subscription system that you can enroll with. They also sell many other products related to Men’s grooming. If you are interested, feel free to shop through my affiliate links here:

My favorite facial scrub is St. Ives Apricot Scrub. I’ve blogged about this a number of times. My opinion stays the same. read my past blogs about skin care here.
My favorite shaving products are the shaving cream, the aftershave gel and the aftershave salve from the 1635 line of VMV Hypoallergenics. Although they are a bit pricey, VMV is known to go on sale every so often – so I usually stock up on them. We are two grown men who uses these products, so it doesn’t really last long on our bathroom counters. Do check out their website if you are interested. I hope that you, MEN, in particular have found this video helpful. And yes, it pays to splurge on a few things once in a while. Self-care is important – there is nothing frivolous about it. It produces positive feelings that boosts your confidence and self-esteem. You stay motivated happy healthy.

Let me say that the products I am using has worked for me and it might not necessarily work for you. Always be discerning when purchasing cosmetics or skin care products. Always read the label and the literature! Always do a patch test before you purchase a product for the first time to see that you are not allergic to any of the ingredients listed.
This video/post is not sponsored. The products that are shown here are the products that I always use, love and live by.
The videos and pictures were shot using my Iphone 7.
