I was commissioned to do the hair and makeup for the latest campaign for Seek The Uniq entitled “Word On The Street”.
This holiday collection is about statement pieces that make “trekking the concrete jungle and urban adventure.”
This collection is about Volume, Prints, Stripes, and Color.
As suggested by the Chief Stylist, Anne, the eyes were to sport a smokey violet look. With a damp brush, I applied a solid wash of color unto Karina’s lids and to enhance her eyes. The eye shadow was from Nars. Unfortunately, I can’t remember its name because I transferred it to a palette and I could not find the notes for that specific palette! If I do find it, I will re-edit this entry.
I added cake eyeliner on the upper and lower lash line which I smudged to create a soft smoky appearance. I added a hint of black eyeshadow at the outer corner of her eyes for a bit of definition. I did not add lashes because Karina already had eyelash extensions. I matched the lip color to Karina’s lips. This way all the attention was concentrated on her eyes.
I kept Karina’s skin fresh by matching the color of the foundation to her skin using Bobbi Brown’s BBU Palette. It’s my go to palette when I am working with a woman of color. Click here to read my blog about it.
I used Glossier’s Cloud Paint in Haze to for a pop of color that almost matched her eye makeup. I added some golden highlights, Inglot AMC Face and Body Illuminator #62 on her skin for a dewy finish.
