Let’s take a peak at the amazing craftmanship of Azzedine Alaia.

Azzedine Alaia’s atelier was located on the second floor. On the day he died, it was left untouched. Not a single needle was moved. Everything remained still in time. You are given a glimpse into his “world”. Yards of fabric, Patterns for clothes, boxes with his namesake and an odd shoe. It’s actually quite inspiring.

Summer has arrived in Paris, and to take shelter from the heat, I decided to hop to the museum of Azzedine Alaia. It’s quite surreal to be in his home and walk the halls where @lindaevangelista, @naomi and other super models used to walk. There is a small curation of his work on display which is coupled by photographs of famed fashion photographer Arthur Elgort. If you know fashion you know who Alaia is. And if you ever find yourself in Paris, it’s a must to visit here.

Photos could not do this exhibit justice and a 10 photo album is not enough to show the amazing work of the house of Dior. Decided to do a photo collage for posterity’s sake.

Walk with me through La Galerie Dior

Headed to La Galerie Dior at @maricarct ‘s suggestion because she knew @chololaurel and I are going to enjoy it. I was surprised to know that it was here because to the best of my knowledge it was “traveling”. I was super glad to be here because I missed the Dior exhibit in Tokyo - I ran out of tickets. 😉 Starting off this thread with a DIORama of colors as you enter La Galerie.

Moules-Frites is becoming a fast fave.

Arrived from Soignolle just in time to accompany @chololaurel and @maricarct to Sacre Coeur. When I came here 14 years ago, it was closed for renovations. So it was actually great to see it up close. At first, I was a little surprised on what seems to be a lack of decor in the basilica. It’s all in the details. I was pleasantly surprised to see the mosaics scattered all over, stained glass windows that colored it’s walls and elegant arches. It’s quite amazing to see such an amazing view of Paris from it’s steps.

Quaint medival towns, abandoned churches, sunday markets, and long suppers. An En Brie photo dump. Brie is a historic region in France now mostly known for Brie cheese. 😉

I love fruit picking, especially #Strawberries!

Laughter has always been part of our shenanigans since circa 2000.

Opera Garnier in a minute. Walk with me.

By the time @mezmira and I were finished at Opera Garnier, we were famished. We quickly hoped on the metro and headed to our fave cafe in Paris called Cafe Flore en L’ile. I bumped into this cafe 14 years ago, long before Emily came to Paris. 🤣 You can actually see the back and the flying buttresses of Notre Dame from the left most portion of the cafe. But the cathedral is currently being repaired after catching fire - so it’s all scaffoldings at the moment. Mez and I had some Ravioli for starters and the Plat du Jour of grilled chicken and risotto. We paired it with some Rosé at na bange me. So good though. 😘

After breakfast, @mezmira and I headed for Opera Garnier. We spent a good amount of time here getting to know a bit of it’s history. No space in this builidng was left without a decoration. Such an over the top style that even I can’t place it. I eventually found out it was called “Napoleon III” style. Lots of Mythological elements here which I love! But mind you I was overwhelmed after a few minutes. Lol And since where in such a beautiful space, we might as well put our modeling hat on. 😉😘
