Fude Matsuri 2024 was subdued, there was actually a passing storm that weekend. Luckly, by Fude Matsuri, the storm has passed and what remained where the residual rain bands. This is what brought everyone in doors.

Despite being able to visit the brush festival a number of times, I experienced many firsts this year. I met Fude BoBo, Master Yoshiki, and new friends in the community. I did not take any photos with most of them because one, I get shy pretty quickly . Second, because of privacy. Not many Japanese want their photos taken. But for sure next time, IF I get to see these wonderful people again, I would do so.

My vlog this year was relatively short because there wasn’t much to see. Some events were cancelled because of the rain, especially during the morning. The rest of the activities were also in one area, so I did not have to visit various places in Sakakiyama Shrine to check up on the brushes.

From Hiroshima Station to Sakakiyama Shrine take: Bus 40-12 bound for Kumano Hagiwara Shako-mae and go down in Nakamizo (https://maps.app.goo.gl/wmLqE4irkTqsQKcSA)

From Yano Station to Sakakiyama Shrine take the same bus 40-12 or Bus 3-2. Go down at Nakamizo.

Bus no 40-13 passes by Yano Station, this is the bus you’ll take if you want to go to the brush museum, Fudenosato Kobo, first. Go down at Kumano Nakasuji.
