This was an unplanned purchase. It caught my by suprise when I visited Fude Beauty and saw that the Japanese brush manufacturer Chikuhodo created a new Sakura Maki-e brush! I have not “added to cart” something so fast in a long time. And I have to say it was worth it.
Maki-e is a Japanese art technique where in the artist painstakingly draws a design on a a surface and sprinkles metallic powder (in Gold, Silver, others) on it and is fixed in place with Lacquer. This was the techhnique used to decorate the handle of this brush.
