Hakuhodo Reiwa Celebration / Sky Blue Brush Set

I am so happy to be able to share with you guys my latest addition to my *Fude Collection, the Hakuhodo Reiwa Celebration / Sky Blue Brush Set.

Hakuhodo is a very niche brand that only a handful of makeup artists have had the pleasure of knowing. I was very surprised to have seen this on the seller’s website – I was more surprised that no one bought this set after all this time. All I could say was, this brush set was meant for me.

As I’ve said in the video, depending on where the set was released, it is marketed differently. The brush set sold in the US retailed for USD 90 ( Php4,418 / SGD 123) while the price sold in Singapore was SGD 300 (Php 10,711 / USD 218) – so I am quite surprised at the difference in prices. I know import taxes might come into play OR maybe a different type of goat hair was used for the American Release OR the company wanted to sell all the stocks so they decided to bring down the price. Who knows really. This brush set is a very basic brush set – it is great for travel or for a novice artist learning the craft of makeup.

Loving the blue gradiation on the lacquered handles of these brushes.

The Brushes:

B206 – Made of goat and synthetic fiber. The hair length is 50mm and the thickness of 15mm. It has a total body length of 190mm.

B110 – Made of goat hair with a hair length of 38mm with a thickness of 11.5mm. It has a total body length of 178mm.

G5552 – Made of goat an synthetic fiber, a hair length and hair thickness of 20mm. The synthetic fiber being 4mm longer than the goat hair. Total body length of the brush is 158mm.

J5549H – Made of horse hair, with a total hair length of 5mm and a thickness of 2.8mm. The total brush length is 120mm.

B516 – Made of synthetic fiber. It has a hair length of 11mm with a thickness of 3mm. It has a total length of 144mm.

After filming, I used the soap to clean the brushes and I have to say the it has a very pleasant and delicate scent. I do not know on how well this soap would clean dirty brushes – I will find out as soon as I start working. I have to say though it leaves my hands feeling quite dry. so do take note of that. it’s ingredients are: Sekken Soji, Water, Sucrose, Glycerin, Alcohol, Sorbitol, Trisodium Hedta, and Etidronic Acid.

The brush cleaning cloth is made of 100% polyester.
